ABOUT US
Melbourne Flight Training is owned and operated by Mr Glen Buckley and Mr Peter Ancona. Glen works in the role of Chief Flying Instructor and Chief Pilot; Peter works at Virgin Blue Airlines as a Captain on the 737. Peter commits his time equally between both companies.

Melbourne Flight Training offers flight instructional training for the issue of the Australian Private Pilot’s Licence, Commercial Pilot’s Licence, Night Rating, Instructor Rating and the Command Instrument Rating. We are approved by the Australian Government to provide training for both local and overseas students in a friendly and nurturing environment.

The concept of Melbourne Flight Training originated from many years of the Director’s combined personal experience within the aviation industry at both the flying training and airline level. Melbourne Flight Training has been established since 2006 and grown significantly to date. From our humble beginnings we now have in excess of 20 full time Instructors and a modern fleet of approximately 20 aircraft. Our highly experienced Instructors come from a diverse background within the industry. Many have chosen to make instructing their career.

Whilst it is crucial students are constantly aware of where their training fits into their overall career, we recognised that many schools don't provide the ongoing monitoring, feedback and motivational guidance that is required during training. Student’s preferences for their career path may change during their training as they become exposed to many facets of the industry. For that reason we adopted an interactive and consultative program that remains flexible and responds to changing preferences.

We design a program in conjunction with individual student’s that provides the best value flying training program available. We provide you with all the available support and resources needed to reach your full potential as a qualified pilot and achieve your career goals.

At Melbourne Flight Training we also recognise that an important part of any flight training program is to expose students not only to the training environment, but also provide them with the opportunity to interact with industry working airline pilots. With this in mind, we have developed a social area consisting of a pool table, plasma TV, Foxtel, table tennis and a bar for after hours socialising. This area opens out onto the upper level balcony which overlooks the runways. On Friday nights staff, students and guests get together for a BBQ and drinks in a relaxed atmosphere; friends and family are particularly welcome.

You will leave Melbourne Flight Training with a solid foundation of skill, knowledge and contacts that will give you the true tools as you embark on your employment journey into an exciting and professional industry.

Itinerate pilots are welcome to use our facilities at Melbourne Flight Training.
