The Instructor rating at Melbourne Flight Training is a demanding yet very rewarding course. It can be completed in approximately two month’s full time.
It is expected that you will commence the course with a sound knowledge in areas such as Aerodynamics and AGK.
Some pre-requisites prior to undertaking the instructor rating must be met:
• You must hold a Night VFR rating before you undertake the flight test
• Commercial Pilots licence
The course has a base cost of $15,000 which will include:
• 30 hours dual flying with a grade 1 instructor in a your selection of aircraft ranging from C172, C152 or PA28.
• 20 hours mutual flying (with another instructor trainee or nominated MFT staff member) to practise your instructional technique
• 12 hours of the Principle and Methods of Instruction ground theory course
• 175 hours of dedicated briefing time with our grade 1 instructor to improve your ground component of training
• A skeleton guide of designing your mass briefings. This will help you create briefings with ease and in turn satisfy the briefing requirements for each lesson
• The flight test fee from the nominated CASA FOI
Any flying over the nominated syllabus times from CASA will be charged at the current flying rate.
